This white vinyl commercial fence installation is a dumpster enclosure behind a business in Orlando. It is a small job by footage and a hard one on hardware. Three solid white sides hide the bins from the street and the neighbors. A double gate on the front swings wide enough for the hauler, and drop rods pin each leaf open or shut.
Vinyl made sense here because nobody wants to paint a dumpster enclosure. Straightline Fence builds these for retail plazas, offices and restaurants across Central Florida, with the panels and hardware pulled from our own St. Cloud yard. Need one? Call (407) 593-1888.
What makes a dumpster enclosure last?
The posts and the gate hardware. The panels are rarely what fails.
A dumpster enclosure takes a beating every single week. The truck backs in, the driver swings the gates, and sooner or later a fork or a bin clips a post. Residential hinges and latches do not survive that. On this job the gate leaves hang on heavy black hinges, and each leaf has a drop rod that drops into the pavement. The driver pins both leaves open, empties the bin and pins them shut again without the wind slamming a gate into the truck. In the gate photo you can see both rods sitting at the center, right where the driver reaches.
Look at the bottoms of the panels too. That small gap above the asphalt lets rain and wash water drain out instead of pooling around the bins, which matters when a summer storm dumps an inch of rain on the lot in an hour.
The posts sit in concrete at two to three feet, and gate posts go deeper because they carry the swing. Our commercial fence installation page covers the heavier gauge posts and hinges we spec for gates that open this often.
Does a business in Orlando have to screen its dumpster?
In most cases, yes. The city expects outdoor dumpsters on commercial sites to be screened from view.
Orlando's land development code calls for dumpsters to be enclosed, usually with an opaque wall or fence on three sides and a gate on the fourth. Height and material rules vary by zoning district, and a property inside a planned development or an overlay district can have stricter design standards on top. Check the specifics for your parcel before you order anything, or let us do it at the estimate.
White vinyl privacy panels meet the opaque part easily, and they keep looking clean with a hose down twice a year. They also beat block walls on cost and time. Our fence company in Orlando page covers the rest of our commercial and residential work across the city, from warehouse perimeters to back yards.
One practical tip: measure for the truck, not just the bin. A front load truck needs the whole opening clear, so each gate leaf has to swing back far enough to stay out of the forks.
How fast can a dumpster enclosure be built?
Usually in a day or two on site, scheduled around your pickup day so the hauler is never blocked.
Posts go in first and the concrete needs time to set before the gate leaves go on. That is the main reason a job this size runs past one day. The crew works around the dumpster where it sits, or asks you to have it moved a few feet for the morning, whichever the site allows. Before any digging, Sunshine 811 marks the buried lines. Commercial lots tend to be full of them.
Material is never the hold up. We keep somewhere between $300,000 and $500,000 of fence material in stock in St. Cloud, so a job like this does not stall for weeks waiting on a distributor. If you need an enclosure for a new tenant, or a replacement for one the truck finally beat, schedule a free estimate or call (407) 593-1888.
